Ever since Apple brought MagSafe technology to the iPhone 12, the Android community has been left high and dry, waiting patiently for a dependable magnetic charging alternative within the same league. Granted, we're not at the point where we can casually slap any old MagSafe accessory onto our best Android phones just yet, but there are viable options available.
Before going any further, it should be noted that MagSafe adapters for Android phones exist in several forms, each of which gets you into magnetic charging nirvana sans Apple device. With all due respect to the originators of the tech, MagSafe is essentially a fancy way of using magnets to accurately align a connection-free charger, which is simply a Qi-enabled wireless charging pad fashioned into a slim circle.
Getting MagSafe functionality on your Android smartphone boils down to two primary methods: using MagSafe adapter rings or opting for MagSafe adapter cases. It's that straightforward.

PopSockets Adapter Ring for MagSafe
This PC-strengthened magnetic ring attaches via a strong 3M adhesive cutout. It’s a remarkable material build and adhesive film for such an affordable price tag. Better yet, the MagSafe ring adapter doesn’t skimp when it comes to magnetic attraction. Like a guided missile, it instantly delivers a secure hold, perfect for a snap-on MagSafe grip.

Perfect for clear cases
ESR HaloLock Universal MagSafe Ring
ESR makes some amazing magnetic accessories. If you’re keen on one of them for your phone, the ESR HaloLock Universal black and silver MagSafe Ring will accommodate your needs. That only holds true as long as your phone case is made of PC or TPU, of course. However, it's not a complete circle, which might pose challenges when maneuvering certain accessories, such as a tripod, when they're attached.

MOFT Snap Phone Sticker
This faux-leather sticker has a ring of magnets inside to allow you to easily snap on MOFT's magnetic accessories or others. In addition, it's a reusable sticker that's residue-free, so you can stick it on and off different phones and cases up to 50 times.

WUOJI Universal Magnetic Ring Magsafe Adapter
The WUOJI magnetic ring, identified by its signature geometric pattern, is a resilient black PC shell with a circle of 32-piece magnets concealed beneath. It’s both slender and light, which means it’s quickly forgotten when MagSafe accessories aren’t magnetically fastened.

PopSockets Round Phone Grip, Adapter Ring for MagSafe Included
PopSockets has another PC-reinforced, 18-member collection of magnetic grips. Each grip is adorned with pop culture motifs or vibrant solid colors, and they can slide off phones to reveal a MagSafe-compatible ring. Just place the grip somewhere handy on the phone, safe in the knowledge that the adapter ring has access to many accessories.

Spigen OneTap MagSafe Metal Plate (MagFit)
Spigen's OneTap MagSafe Metal Plate sticks to the back of your phone case, making it MagSafe compatible. It's not a complete circle, more of a gapped circle with an angled tailpiece, so twist accessories may not function properly. However, it's thinner and less bulky than other options.
$20 at Amazon
Adapter rings, the budget-friendly and universal choice, can be applied to a wide range of Android phones and cases. The principle isn’t difficult to grasp: simply attach a magnetic disc to your phone or slim phone case, and you're ready to attach MagSafe accessories.
When employing a MagSafe adapter ring, the key factor to keep in mind is its placement. If you have a thick, heavy-duty case, there's a good chance that you’ll lose charging functionality, even if it’s sticking to your phone. That’s a bugbear of an issue, one MagSafe manufacturers will warn you of in their ads.

Ghostek Exec for Galaxy S22
Featuring raised edges around the S22 camera module, the Ghostek Exec is a well-designed case with soft corners and a layer of shock-absorbing material protecting it from drops. Then there's a convenient 3-card credit card holder included, too. While it's bulky, it isn't unwieldy. It's also not officially MagSafe compatible, but the case has magnets inside for magnetic Qi chargers or other accessories.

The remaining choice is a MagSafe-compatible case — and yes, there are options available for Android users. Just like any phone case, you'll need to hunt down one that matches your device, and that might be challenging if you own an older model.
We've also put together dedicated round-ups of the best MagSafe cases for the Galaxy S23 series and for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 too.
What to expect using MagSafe with Android
It’s a slam dunk for Apple-flavored MagSafe, with the standout feature proving to be its ability to provide instant access to 15W of charging power. That’s a remarkably speedy option for wireless charging. Take note, however, that this level of power isn't possible on Android phones. At the end of the day, MagSafe is Apple technology, so using a MagSafe-compatible accessory with a workaround, such as a MagSafe adapter, might yield some funky results.
As for the real perks for Android folks diving into MagSafe? It's the wide range of MagSafe-compatible accessories you can snag from third-party champs like Spigen, Mophie, PopSockets, and more. These brands have their own lineup of magnetic chargers and add-ons that pack in many MagSafe's goodies, minus the Apple logo.
