12 Step Sites

Alcoholics Anonymous: The first 12 Step organization, formed in 1935. A fellowship of men and women who have the desire to stay sober. AA is a non-professional, self-supporting, and nondenominational.

Al-Anon/Alateen Family Group: Helps families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of the disease. Alateen is a similar program for youth. Al-Anon does not discuss outside therapy techniques or intervention.

AA Speaker Tapes: Downloadable audio files of AA talks. Includes rare recordings of AA's founding members.

Christians in Recovery: Religious based 12 Step group. Discussion of the 12 Steps, the Bible, and experiences in recovery.

Jewish Alcoholics (JACS): A coordinated movement of addicted Jews, significant others, and professionals working together in the Jewish community to deal with the problem of addiction.

Dick B's Site: One of the great historians of the 12 Step movement.

Gamblers Anonymous. For anyone who wishes to solve their problem of gambling and help others do the same.

Prescription Anonymous: For medication dependence.

Families Anonymous: For families with addicted loved ones.

Cyber Sober. A resource for finding 12 Step meetings in unfamiliear areas. Online meetings include AA, Al-anon, Gamblers Anonymous, and Tobacco Anonymous.

Staying Cyber. A series of weekly meetings for alcoholics online. Newcomers are asked to read the guidelines before participating in any meetings.
